The story of a librarian
Mr. Jazi is a librarian at King's Academy, but he is not like any librarian and I will tell you why.
yesterday I met Mr. Jazi and we sat down and talked for about an hour, we talked a lot, I asked a lot of question to get to know him better and I discovered a lot of new things about him actually.
Mr. Jazi has 5 daughters and 3 boys, one of the girls lives in Germany with her husband since August 2016. She has 3 daughters, a boy and she's currently expecting a child. Her husband is German. They met in the German University, she was a professor assistance there and he was a student. He proposed to her and she said yes, now they're married. her husband speaks 4 languages: German, Arabic, English and Spanish.
Before working at King's Academy, he taught navigation, communication and fire control science for 11 years on a ship in the sea. He was a second navy officer between the years 1980-1990. Then, he worked at some merchant ships as a second officer, then a first officer, after that he worked as a port captain for 8 years.
A really cool information I found out about him is that he know Morse code. He thought me how to write my name in Morse code actually.
When I asked him would he rather stay in the library or the sea he said:" I would choose the library every time.'' he also said:" In the sea you never change, you always stay the same and that's boring, but in the library you get to learn new things every day about the world and your self as well."
He told me that his favorite food is fish so I asked him would he choose fish or books?
he said: " I'll choose books because food is always available"
Mr. Jazi has read over 10,000 books in his life, amazing right?
The library of King's Academy was built by the ruler of Dubai, Mohammed ibn rashed al-Maktoum, he is the one who buys the books and finance the library.
Mr. Jazi's American friend suggested to the headmaster of King's Academy that Mr. Jazi come and work there in the library and so Mr. Jazi came to King's Academy. he loved the library and working in it because he loves reading books.
Guess what! Mr. Jazi has a facebook. His username is Jazi Alsaleh, add him guys!
I asked him if would he be willing to live in the campus of King's Academy he said sure because when you live in the campus, then you're living for the students, to offer them knowledge,
Mr. Jazi traveled to many places including: Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, Oman, Pakistan, India, Tanzania, South Africa, Singapore, Germany, Belgium and Holland.
Mr. Jazi's role model is his grandfather, he was the head of the family, he helped a lot of people, that's why he became Mr. Jazi's hero.
When I asked Mr. Jazi about his dream job he told me that he wanted to work with books, so I figured that he has achieved his dream, he said:" I always chase my dreams, until they become a reality."
A funny story that he told me that he has a daughter and a grandchild, both of them are 10 years old, they would always fight about who is the closer to Mr. Jazi the daughter or the grandchild.
I asked him about his name, what does it mean? he answered, the name Jazi comes from the word reward. Indeed, Mr. Jazi is a reward for the school, his family and the world.
